When he entered the doctoral graduate school at the Kyoto University in 2001, the outline sequence of the human genome was identified and published in Nature and Science. He started the research for seeking candidate genes of familial cerebral aneurysms under the direction of Prof. Akio Koizumi at the department of Environmental Health, Kyoto University Graduate School.
During this four-year at Kyoto University Graduate School, he had the opportunity to study abroad at Centre National de Genotypage (Director: Prof. Fumihiko Matsuda), and participate in large-scale cohort research (JACC Study). He learned the basics of statistics. In addition, He began to collaborative research about computational fluid dynamics (CFD) of intracranial aneurysms with Prof. Marie Oshima at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo.
After graduating from graduate school, while working as a neurosurgeon, he continued clinical research.
From 2013 to 2019, he worked at the Rakuwakai Otowa hospital, he learned deeply about Hakim's disease (idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus: iNPH) from Dr. Masatsune Ishikawa. Additionally, he began to collaborative research about the 3D/4D image analysis with Fujifilm Co., Ltd., and 3D gait analysis with Digital Standard Co., Ltd. since 2017. From 2019 to 2022, he worked at the department of Neurosurgery, Shiga University of Medical Science as an assistant professor. Since October 2022, he has been working as a lecturer in the Department of Neurosurgery at Nagoya City University, where he promotes clinical research on iNPH under Prof. Mase.
