- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2023/04 -2026/03Author : 伊藤 恭彦研究期間の1年目にあたる2023年度では、分配的正義に関する内外の研究の到達点を確認し、その上で、都市地理学、都市社会学、都市政治学で研究が進展している空間正義の概念についての理論的整理を行った。まず空間の正義が問われる現実的な状況として、特定の個人や集団をある空間から排除することがあることを確認した。これは「空間的排除」と呼ぶことができる空間的不正義である。空間的不正義は民族差別として歴史的には現れたが、現代では商品化された空間を特定の人や集団が独占することによっても発生している。こうした空間的排除を是正することは正義の課題であると言える。 空間的排除に対して個人に空間を「分配する」ことによって解決するという分配的正義によるアプローチも可能のように考えられるが、空間は権利や財のように個人に全て帰属するものではないし、全ての空間が所有の対象でもない。私的に所有される空間は確かに分配の対象と言えるかもしれないが、空間は所有ではなく、占有、利用、一時通過といった形態でも個人に裨益する。多くの空間がいわば集合的利用の対象となっており、このことは個人に対して特定の財を分配するという分配ロジックとして空間問題を検討することには限界があることを示している。 したがって、空間に関わる正義は個々人が生きる上での外的条件であり、この条件を集合的にコントロールすることが正義の課題となるとの暫定的な仮説を獲得した。この仮説をもとに空間正義の規範内容を明らかにしていきたい。 空間正義問題を都市論に結びつけて研究を進めることも課題としているが、2023年度は西洋政治思想史上の都市理念としてのコスモポリスを古代政治思想と現代コスモポリタンの研究から導き出し、論文（書籍の1章）として公刊した。
- 日本学術振興会：科学研究費助成事業Date (from‐to) : 2021/04 -2024/03Author : 有賀 誠; 松元 雅和; 伊藤 恭彦; 上原 賢司; 施 光恒; 田上 孝一; 松井 暁本研究は、環境問題等、国民国家という従来の枠組みが、それを解くのに適していない問題が噴出する中で、「コスモポリタニズム」という歴史ある思想に、もう一度、光を当て、そのポテンシャルを最大限に引き出すことを目指している。 共同研究開始の初年度に当たる2021年度は、上記の目標に向けての足固めをする年度となった。具体的には、各研究分担者が、今後の研究の土台となる文献の収集、整理に多くの時間を費やした。 本来であれば、年度内に一度は、研究分担者が直接集まって、それぞれの研究の進捗状況について、情報交換を行う機会を持ちたいところではあったが、コロナ禍のため、残念ながら、それはかなわなかった。しかし、幸いなことに、本共同研究の母体は、隔月で開かれている「現代規範理論研究会」であり、同研究会は、リモートで開催を継続していたため、ゲストスピーカーによる報告とディスカッションが終了した後の限られた時間ではあったが、研究分担者は、隔月で、簡単な情報交換をすることができた。 また、同研究会でお呼びしたゲストスピーカーからは、「コスモポリタニズム」それ自体をテーマにした報告ではないケースでも、関連領域から大変示唆的な知見を聴取することができた。 コロナ禍は、共同研究の進行にとっては、もちろんマイナスの側面が大きいのだが、研究分担者相互のリモートでの会話の中でも、コロナ禍の急速な世界大の広がりは、それ自体が、国民国家単位の対処に限界のあることを示しており、「コスモポリタニズム」という切り口から取り組むべき問題であるということ話も出ており、今後、研究に取り込むことも考えている。
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C)Date (from‐to) : 2019/04 -2022/03Author : Itoh YasuhikoIn this study, we explored the significance of taxation and the principle of fair taxation from the perspective of social justice. As a result, taxation is not just an act of eroding the property rights of the people and acquiring the necessary expenses by the government, but an act of correcting the distribution of property according to the social justice (distributed justice) that society adheres to. Furthermore, the question of what to choose as a tax base is not just about economic efficiency and practical reason, but is closely related to social justice, and it is related to the concept of specific social justice and the view of justice that society adheres to.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2016/04 -2020/03Author : Matsui SatoshiThis project attempted to create a framework for the normative theory of global issues by organizing and examining normative issues on specific issues. The following six issues were addressed. (1) the global market; (2) the transformation of the political space; (3) war and peace; (4) the environment and life; (5) the transformation of actors, relationships and identities; and (6) the direction of change. In order to systematically construct the normative theory of global issues, we have discussed the interconnectedness of the six issues rather than the individual normative theories of the six issues themselves. As a result, we were able to grasp the global society as a whole and obtain a framework of overall normative theory to guide its future vision.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2014/04 -2019/03Author : Uemura Takehiko; Kanehira Hiroko; Tanigawa Kimie; Tsuda Kumiko; Ikeda MarikoIn the last five years, the project was able to deliver great results, such as 38 journal articles, 26 book chapters, 59 presentations, and so on. In particular, Uemura, Takehiko ed. (2019) Theories and Practices of Global Tax: Beyond the Limitations of the Sovereign State System (Nihon Hyoron sya), published as a compilation of this research project is worth noting. Firstly, it theorizes a global tax from philosophy, economics and law standpoints. Secondly, it examines, as a case study, multinational corporation tax, BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting), climate change, Unitaid and the Adaptation Fund, political process of introducing a financial transaction tax in EU, the post-BEPS and multilateralism. Last, not the least, the scope is extended even to the examination of a world government as a future development through a global tax. Through this research, the whole picture of the global tax is clarified both widely and deeply.

However, we found that liberal democracy has many problems. More specifically, we clarified the change of a concept of war, the problem of poor countries, and the restoration of religion and nationalism.
