- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2019/04 -2023/03Author : 北村 暁夫; 田中 ひかる; 青木 恭子; 木村 真; 一政 史織; 杉浦 未樹; 平野 奈津恵; 山本 明代; 山手 昌樹本研究は、18世紀から20世紀にいたる近現代ヨーロッパにおいて、戦争や国家・社会による迫害などによって空間的な移動を強制された人々を対象とし、こうした人々が移動の過程で自らの生存を賭して行った選択（これを本研究では生存戦略と呼ぶ）を明らかにした上で、生存した人々が移動の過程において、あるいは移動先において形成した人的ネットワークの実態を明らかにすることを目的としたものである。 初年度にあたる本年度は2回の研究会を開催した。第1回研究会は7月27日に開催し、参加者（代表者・分担者）9名が、4年間にわたって取り組むテーマに関して一人15分程度の報告を行った。9名のうち第1次世界大戦期を扱う参加者が3人、戦間期を扱うのが2人、第二次世界大戦期を扱うのが2人、その他が2人という構成になった。第2回研究会は12月14日に開催し、青木恭子「第一次世界大戦期ロシア帝国における避難民」と平野奈津恵「第一次世界大戦期のベルギー人難民をめぐって」の二本が報告された。いずれも第一次世界大戦期を対象としたもので、戦禍を逃れて避難した人々が移動した場所は大戦以前から同郷者が移民として向かっていた地域が多いことが明らかにされた。 研究会活動と並行して、参加者各人が研究対象とする地域での史料・文献収集および聞き取り調査を行うための外国出張が行われた。おおむね順調に進んでいたが、2020年初頭に始まる新型コロナウィルスCovid-19の感染拡大が3月からヨーロッパでも急速に進んだことにより、代表者が3月中旬に行う予定であったイタリアとクロアチアにおける現地調査は延期を余儀なくされた。そのため、年度内に研究活動を終えることができなくなり、科研費補助金の繰り越し申請を行った。2020年度に入っても新型コロナウィルスの流行が収束しなかったために外国出張は断念され、国内での文献収集活動に限定された。
- 日本学術振興会：科学研究費助成事業Date (from‐to) : 2017/04 -2021/03Author : 秋山 晋吾; 戸谷 浩; 木村 真; 松浦 真衣子; 山本 明代2019年度は、国内研究会を一橋大学にて2回開催し（2019年7月20日、12月21日）、個別研究報告2件（ギリシアのヴラーフ関連博物館について、ウィーンのブルガリア人移民について）、成果論集に向けてのテーマ報告（メンバー全員）、および、2020年3月に予定していたブルガリアでの合同調査の準備を行った。 また、研究代表者（秋山）によるルーマニアでの文書館（ゲルラ・ローマカトリック文書館分館）およびフィールド調査（2019年10月）、研究分担者（木村）によるブルガリアの文書館（ソフィア国立文書館）での文献調査（2020年3月）、研究協力者（岩﨑）によるオーストリアの文書館（国立文書館・図書館）での史料調査（2019年10月）を行い、ヴラーフおよび関連する近世・近代のバルカン中欧における人の移動に関する史資料の収集および記憶の顕彰に関する知見を得た。 2020年3月に予定していた代表者・分担者・協力者8名によるブルガリアでの博物館・フィールド調査（ヴェリングラド、メルニク、ソフィア）は、新型コロナ感染症の日本およびブルガリアでの流行拡大によりやむなく延期し、2020年度中の実施を目指したが、流行の再拡大・再々拡大に伴い断念し、国内での資料分析の遂行により代替した。 2019年度に本研究に関連して、秋山晋吾「史料から歴史へ」（南塚信吾・小谷汪之編『歴史的に考えるとはどういうことか』ミネルヴァ書房所収）、山本明代「第二次世界大戦期の東中欧におけるセーケイ人の移動と地域の形成」（『歴史学研究』989号）などが発表された。
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2016/04 -2020/03Author : TANAKA HikaruThe first part of the achievement of this research is that it is pointed out that the phenomenon of development of social movements in every place of the world is the result of the interaction of ideas and movements across the borders based on the concrete examples from the 19th century to the present. The compilation of this result is the work "Global History of Social Movement" (Minerva Publishing, 2018) . The second part of the achievement of this research is demonstrating that the new framework of "transnational diffusion of ideas and social movements" is better to analyze more wider objects than the "transnational interaction of ideas and movement".

- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science：Grants-in-Aid for Scientific ResearchDate (from‐to) : 2015/04 -2019/03Author : KITAMURA AkeoThis research focuses on the European female migrations between 17th century and the first half of 20th century and seeks to analyse reciprocal relations between migrations and the gender. By making the case studies of female migrations from the point of view of the women's participation to political and social movements, their entry into the labor market, and the influence of their migration on the patriarchy in the private sphere, it concluded that the marriage and matrimonial strategy were important factors for the migration practice, that the preservation (or formation) of personal asset provoked it, and that after the migration, the augmentation of occasions of female work outside the family weakened the patriarchal control on family members.

Because historical journals are an important medium for considering the history research, we surveyed the history of historical journals of each region. In the individual theme, the members of the project examined the history of historical description, individual historians, and institutions that support and/or regulate historical studies.

And the future, it was carried out preparatory work for rewriting the history image of the Eurasian history. As a result, we concluded that the concept of "agricultural and pastoral boundary zone" needs to be re-defined in order to delineate the Eurasian history.

Secondly, it was also revealed that the immigrants who came from Atlantic rim and Ocean rim constructed their social movements commonly in the United States; these movements influenced of the social movement in their homelands, especially in Japan and China. Thirdly, it is pointed out, that there are some materials indicating the possibility of the influence of American social movement to the American people in Japan, who had connection to the Japanese social movement.

We tried to elucidate complexity and multiple dimensions characteristic of their works, and also to analyze their works from the point of view of “archipelago-thought” in order to improve and complement the historical aspects of postcolonial literary theory and postmodern theory. We discovered multilingual dynamic structures and certain prospects relevant to the world literature.

By accumulating the individual cases about the European migrants and putting insistingly these cases into the types of the logic of migration, it reached to the conclusion that it is very important to distinguish circular (temporary) migrations from linear (permanent) migrations, and it is necessary to emphasize the crucial role of feminine migrants.

We could throw light on how they built up(or broke off)“transnational"relations in their communities and groups and, accordingly, how they established(or lost)“transnational identities,"which was the pioneering research in this field in Japan.

Although Niederhauser's work pointed to national frameworks of the historical writings in this region, it also showed a method of transnational study by comparing national historical writings. Furthermore, to review national historical writings, we discussed the significance of the narrators and the frameworks of historical writings.

This can be recognized as the attitude of transforming migration literature into omniphonous world literature.

The goal of this research project is to approach the border-crossing cultural activities in this fluctuating tide, and to conduct a comprehensive study on the transcultural literary activities of writers prominent in this area. These transborder authors, both present and past, from the English-, German-, Russian-, east-European language-, and Japanese- speaking areas, are examined for their historical, social, and cultural roles as well as for their perspectives on the future. Since this is the final year of this research project, all our members submitted a paper on their respective themes. Their subject themes are: the border-crossing in Mexican-American literature; mid-European literature and local identity; a Caribbean writer Edouard Glissan's vision; the transborder authors in. Germanphone area; word play and multiculturalism; a passage from the national to the trans-border literature in Hungary, Japanese literature in Brazil, and Japanese border-crossing literature. Although treating a range of themes, within all these papers is the common recognition that bordercrossing is the essence of literature, whether the trans-border experience is that of immigrants, refugees, diasporas, nomads, or others. It is concluded that, transborder literature, despite its position as a minor literature, is one that it radicalizes and empowers each national literature and further opens a path to world literature.
- 日本学術振興会：科学研究費助成事業Date (from‐to) : 2002 -2004Author : 水野 博子; 山本 明代本研究は1920年代の国際連盟による「少数民族保護」政策について、特にヴェルサイユ体制を基軸とした国際関係史の観点から考察することをめざした。そこで今年度は、これまで収集した本テーマに関わる研究文献の総合的整理を行うことにより、マイノリティの「保護」という思想に内包される問題性を、水野は国際連盟の政策の観点から、また山本はロマ研究ならびに東ヨーロッパからの合衆国への移民の歴史を検討し、以下の結論を得た。 1.「保護」という思考は、家父長的なスタンスを前提とする概念であり、第二次世界大戦後に成立した国民国家を基軸とする国際関係の支配体系の根幹をなしている。 2.本研究で問題提起した「マイノリティ」の「保護」は、歴史的に見て、特に「ドイツ系住民」と「ユダヤ系住民」を中心に議論されたが、その重要な理由のひとつは「離散の民」たる歴史的発展が、一定の領土をあるアイデンティティ集団が支配することを前提に成立する国民国家体制と相いれないからである。 3.「マイノリティ」を問題にするとき、その解決方法として、少数者の文化を支配文化から「解放する」、「あらゆる文化を認め合う」といった多分化主義的、あるいは相対主義的な思想が主張されるが、それは、少数者の文化を所与の前提として設定している。しかし、そうした少数者の文化を作り出してきたものこそが、近代国民国家の支配体系であり、「マイノリティ保護システム」は、こうした現代的な問題設定の限界を批判的に再検討する視座を提供する。 本研究プロジェクトを締めくくるにあたり、2005年2月に国内の中東欧研究者を関西に招聘し、中東欧地域における「マイノリティ」問題の歴史的背景と現状について、ワークショップを組織し、第三者評価を受けた。また、より総合的に第三者評価をうけるため、これまでの研究成果をまとめた研究報告書「記憶のタペストリー-マイノリティ、ナチズム、戦争をめぐる現代文化の諸相」を自主的に作成・発行し、各関係者に配布した。
