In this study, we conducted empirical analyses of the effect of normative awareness on human behavior (Akerlof and Kranton 2000).
Here, we analyzed the effect of "gender role division consciousness" on the time allocation behavior of married women.
Following the previous study(Bertrand, Kamenica and Pan 2015, Wieber and Holst 2015), the results of the analysis are as follows (Sakamoto and Morita 2020). Women who have higher potential earned income than their husbands tend not to work. In addition, women whose actual earned income is higher than their husbands tend to spend more time doing housework in order to compensate for deviant behavior from the gender role division consciousness.

This study analyzes the impact of continued post-childbirth employment by married women on married couples' income mobility, using Wave 11-24 (2003-2016) of the Japanese Panel Survey of Consumers.
The findings are as follows: first, continuous employment or taking childcare leave makes a couple’s income transition upward, and the upward effect is larger as the husband’s income is higher. Second, however, by taking the endogeneity of women’s income level and continuous employment or taking childcare leave into account, the upward effect could only be observed in couples where the husband earned a high income. Third, the upward effect expired within 10 years following the first child’s birth.
These findings suggest that work-life balance policies aiming to support continued postpartum employment by married women have possibilities to increase income inequality among married couples in the future.

Based on the 829 hand-written documents of "Day Survey" of Mass Observation housed at a local archive at Brighton, The Keep, we have found that British people woke up at 7.40 am and went to bed at 11.21 pm. Comparing Voth's (1998) findings about people in the early nineteenth century, who arose 6 am and slept at 10.50 pm, their living hours have become later.

We examine the effects of after-school care on female labor supply of those who are bringing up school-aged children. We use two types of longitudinal surveys, Japanese Panel Survey of Consumers and Longitudinal Survey of Adults in the 21st Century. We find that provision of after-school care have the positive effects on female labor supply, especially as regular workers. In addition to formal after-school care, it is important for fathers to be involved into child rearing in order to encourage labor force participation of mothers with school-aged children. The empirical results support to enhance provision of child care for school-aged children and to improve working conditions at fathers' workplaces.
This research analyzed the effect of child support measures on workers' work motivation and corporate performance. We implemented two questionnaire surveys for firms, two questionnaire surveys for workers and many interviews for managers. We found that the work motivation increases when workers use child support measures, and there is a positive correlation between child support measures and corporate profit.
